Musk enabled Trump to come to power again. Now, the billionaire Elon Musk wants more “Trumps” in Europe. Musk plans to host a livestream with Alice Weidel, the head of Germany’s far-right AfD party, on his social media platform. Oligarch Elon Musk’s recent statements, disinformation, and behaviour makes me think of wealthy eugenicist anti semite racist Henry Ford and the Nazis.
In 1918, Henry Ford purchased his hometown newspaper, The Dearborn Independent. A year and a half later, he began publishing a series of articles that claimed a vast Jewish conspiracy was infecting America. In 1938, Ford received an award from the Nazi regime called the ‘Grand Cross of the German Eagle.’ Ford’s writing very much inspired Hitler. Hitler was very aware of Henry Ford and Henry Ford’s writings and praised them. He turned to the same documents. There’s a common thread. The Protocols of the Elders of Zion was a cherished text for both. Ford used his leverage as an employer to try and aggressively socially engineer workers’ lives and “Americanize” those who had immigrated from elsewhere. Ford bitterly opposed labour unions, which he frequently described as a global Jewish conspiracy. Indeed, as a vocal antisemite, he used his status as one of America’s most well-known and trusted business leaders to systematically spread conspiracy theories about Jews.
Henry Ford's screeds against Jewish people became so well-known at home and abroad that he is the only American whom Adolf Hitler compliments by name in Mein Kampf.
Ford’s name even came up during the Nuremberg trials when Baldur von Schirach, a former Reich youth leader of the National Socialist German Students League, described his radicalization.“The decisive antisemitic book which I read at that time and the book which influenced my comrades…was Henry Ford’s book, The International Jew,” he said at his 1946 trial.“In those days, this book made such a deep impression on my friends and me because we saw in Henry Ford the representative of success,”
Following the D-Day Landings of early June 1944 – with American soldiers capturing their first German vehicles in Normandy, France – they were bemused to discover that many of the Wehrmacht engines were produced by General Motors, along with the mighty Ford Motor Company. The powerful US multinational, International Business Machines Corporation (IBM), undertook various deals with the Nazis, under IBM chairman Thomas J. Watson, a Nazi sympathiser.ITT Corporation, a prominent US manufacturing firm, had initially secured a 25% share with Focke-Wulf, the German aircraft producer, which would rise to 29% by 1943 – and so ITT was helping to produce military aircraft for the Luftwaffe, even after Hitler had declared war on America in late 1941. Despite Germany now being an enemy of America, ITT was also continuing to provide the Nazis with high-tech communications systems.
Albert Speer, Hitler’s armaments minister from 1942 to 1945, was reported to have admitted that Germany “could not have attempted its September 1939 Blitzkrieg of Poland, without the performance-boosting additive technology provided by Alfred P. Sloan and General Motors”.
Capitalism has always worked for the crooks;
War is often an extension of capitalism.
The Close ties between US businessmen and bankers and their German counterparts had been forged in the years before Hitler’s rise to power.
US loans by the Morgan and Chase banking interests propped up the faltering German economy after the 20s. IBM, General Motors, antisemite racist Henry Ford motors, Farben, Du Pont, and Standard Oil all helped the trains to Auschwitz run on time!
When you follow the money, you realise where big businesses’ sympathies and interests lie. Arms manufacturers profit most. It all concerns power and what money can buy and afford to pay for…Power and putting the puppets and people they want into power. Corporations are happy with fascists in power for feeding the Hungry working people…benefitting the homeless, no…just tax cuts and profits for themselves…the rich. US private companies benefitted from fascism.
The Standard Oil Company sent $2 million to Nazi Germany in 1933. They were also making $500,000 a year in helping the Germans to produce gas/fuel for war purposes- fascism was suitable to American capitalism’s economic needs. Nazis weren’t anti-capitalist. And US capitalism was pro-fascist. American capitalists-industrialists had a great deal to do with bringing fascist regimes into being in both Germany and Italy. They extended aid to help fascism occupy the seat of power, and they were helping to keep it there.
The only side capitalism is on is the side of profit- no loyalties or patriotism-they did business with Fascists. The nazis greatly supported German capitalists, and upon taking power, the Nazis began an economic process of transferring state-owned property into the hands of the capitalist class; Hitler was certainly not at all against capitalists owning most of the German economy and profiting from it.
